We are narrowing it down. We've received lots of good ideas for an English name for our little "record surplus." We'll keep her Chinese name, Jiying, as her middle name. For a given name we are now focused on derivatives of David, to honor the memory of one of her grandfathers, the amazing Mr. Dave, who passed away two short months ago.
Dava or Davia or Davyn, or maybe even Davan.
One of those will work nicely.

As you might know, David is "beloved" in Hebrew, so there are quite a few feminine names that mean "beloved," including Amanda.

Hi, I read about your blog at Ahead of the Times. Congratulations on your adoptions. "Davina" is the female version of David in Hebrew, with the same meaning. I like how all your options sound like "devine". :)
